Senior Session

SO MANY QUESTIONS...GUESS WHAT?? by Heather Kennemer

I know.  I've been there.  It's summer and your child is now a legit SENIOR in High School.  Personally, I didn't think I had to deal with any of it until after Christmas break of their Senior Year, or at least until after summer for Pete's sake.  Time. Slow. Down.

It's exciting and scary and leaves you full of, "Wait, when is that supposed to be done?" questions.  Well, I don't have all the answers, but I can tell you what I know.  With one in college and one that will be a Senior this year (insert ugly cry emoji) I can give you the heads up on several things.  If it helps at all or at least gives you a sense of relief that you aren't alone, then we're getting somewhere!

So, I'm assuming that you got the same letter from the portrait company that I did.  It tells you that your student has to be there on a certain date, at a certain time, with a check for a certain amount.  Here's the kicker - you can't go.  Whattt?  The first thing your baby (yes, they are still our babies) is asked to do as a Senior and you're not even allowed to watch.  Well, that is crazy.

Did you know that you don't have to order anything?  You do have options.  Yes, they should go.  You will choose one of the images to be used in your school's yearbook.  Do you have to purchase it?  Absolutely not.  You have so many options.  There are only a few times that we stop and take the time to schedule a session with a professional photographer - Newborn pictures, Senior pictures and Wedding Pictures.  Chances are everything in between is captured on our phone (thank goodness!)

Take the time to look around and find a professional photographer who's personality and style fits yours.  Chances are, you will be much happier with the final result!  When should you do this you ask?  Now.  Believe it or not, as soon as school starts back, you will be asked to submit photos for Senior ads, Football program ads and everything in between.  Summer and fall are a great time to schedule your Senior Session.  Schedules are more relaxed, the days are longer and hey, there's a good chance you'll have a tan!

If you have any questions, let me know and I'll be happy to answer them the best that I can!  We've got this!
